Army Staff Sgt. John Borders

John was injured 5 Jan 2006 in Taji, Iraq - just 9 days before the end of his year long tour!

Injuries:  Crushed legs (right was amputated, left in limb salvage), 2 open fractures to his right arm, left ring finger was severed and reattached, fractured neck, shrapnel to eyes, face and torso, contusions to his lungs, lacerated liver, cuts to his face, and some burns (also a mild TBI that he won't talk about).

John wants to continue to serve and is planning on staying on Active Duty.

He's been in the Army for 15 years on Active Duty and did 2 years in the reserves before that.

Mollie was on Active Duty from 1992-1999 as a cardiovascular tech.  We met in Germany in PLDC!

John and Mollie Borders have 2 children, Brit 14 and Xan 3.

Goal: buy and furnish a handicapped accessible home and car.

I would like to give them a proper welcome home and help him financially as they start a new phase in their life.

This benefit will include dinner, concert and a silent auction, cash donations as well

There are 206 bones in your body. Imagine that almost all of them are broken. On January 5, 2006, U.S. Army Sgt. John Borders was engaged in a routine security patrol about an hour and a half outside of Taji, Iraq. His second tour in the country was set to end in just nine days. Then there was an explosion in the center of the convoy.
